TJ at NEW HAMPSHIRE BASS FEST JUNE 25-28

This is going to be one of the highlights of 2008....maybe of my life!! I get to hang for 4 days with Jim Stinnett, Rufus Reid, Steve Bailey, Michael Manring, Bruce Gertz, Dave Buda, Rob Gourlay....I've also heard that Rufus and I will be playing in some duo and trio situations!!! WOW!!

You don't want to miss this one if you can help it!!!

Here's an overview I "borrowed" from the NHBassfest website.

The New Hampshire Bass Fest is a four-day celebration of the bottom end. Associate with and learn from World Class performers and teachers. Daily activities will include; Lecture/Demonstration, Lab Style Playing Classes, Master Classes, and Performances. Many luthiers, vendors, and manufactures will be on hand. Participants are invited to attend all events.

NHBF is a unique combination of both Festival and School. Students at all levels of ability will have the opportunity to participate in playing classes. These Labs will focus on traditional and contemporary techniques in a variety of styles. Come to New Hampshire to recharge, refocus, and recommit to your musical goals.

The New Hampshire Bass Fest will be held June 25 - 28, 2008

TJ "2" Workout in New Hampshire March 14 - 16, 2008

I'm EXTREMELY excited to be the "featured" instructor again at "Jim Stinnett's Jazz Bass Workout March 14 - 16, 2008 in Candia New Hampshire (Candia is about 90 minutes north of Boston). Jim Stinnett is a "legendary" instructor at Berklee in Boston and arguably THE BEST teacher I've ever seen. I'll be teaching "6 string chord melody, chord voicings and repertoire" for 3 solid days.

The advance preparation of a list of jazz standards will be required. Students should have these songs memorized and ready to perform; melody, bass line, chords (guide-tones), and harmony line to the melody. No sheet music will be allowed. You will need to bring a bass strung with a high C. *Guitarists welcome.

Tuition: $435.00 (Does not include meals or lodging)
Class size is limited so.....Go to www.jimstinnett.com and check out all the details.
I hope to see you there!! It's gonna be GREAT!!!!

Finished Filming WBL 3 DVD:

Speaking of Alfred videos,
I thought I'd let you all know that I just finished filming the "Walking Bass Line Module System - Volume 3" DVD last weekend. This DVD covers various subjects that will help you put the finishing touches on your walking lines. Subjects like: Rhythmic Articulations, Modal bass line, 2 beat style, Playing in 3, Transcribing, etc. So I've got one in the can....

I should also let you know that I'm planning on doing an "Improvising" DVD for Alfred as well. My plan is to film sometime in July 2008. Look for both of these to have a late 2008 or early 2009 release date. I'll keep you posted as things develop.

TJ Signs Alfred Publishing Deal:

I'm thrilled to announce that I recently signed a deal with Alfred Publishing in December 2007. All 3 of my instruction DVD's premier at NAMM and will be released worldwide sometime in March 2008. Look for them to hit stores in early April. My DVD's will be part of the Alfred "Artists Series", so I'll be right next to Jaco, Victor and Pattitucci in the DVD displays at every Guitar Center and Sam Ash in the U.S.

Thanks to all of you for your support, encouragement and kind words. Look for more Alfred videos from me in late 2008 or early 2009!!
